Absolutely amazing! couldn't believe that myself that Rackocevic will end up in Efes.... poor TAU, I supposed that Racko didn't want to continue with them... great addition to Efes, hopefully they will join back to the elite clubs once again.

Acoording to the Israeli media Maciej Lampe agreed terms with Maccabi (1.1 Million $ per year for 2 years). the only thing between Lampe and Maccabi is Lampe release from Khimki Moscow, but Khimki don't want to pay the rest of Lampe contract.
Jun 20, 2009, 8:07 pm
Why would they want to pay the rest of the contract of a guy and let him play in another team?
If they pay it, they might as well keep him.

It's not a small issue considering the player has 3mio Euros left on his Khimki contract. [He was reported to make 4.5mio Euros in three years]
That's almost [okay, 700k per year difference <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ] Macijauskas territorry. I wonder how they will solve that, because he won't want to miss out on all the money.

Messina denies interest in JR Holden and says that as long as he coaches Real Madrid his team will never try to 'steal' a player that the Russian team actually wants to keep.

It won't be enough. Hedo and his agent will ask why does Childress (a much worse player than Hedo) get 3 years at the same money.

ESPN has said AGAIN in their TV draft coverage that Nick Calathes has requested that PAO release him from his contract. The reason stated was he was told by the coach of the team (Obradovic) that if they re-signed Saras then he would not get any playing time. This supposedly has made Calathes change his mind and he does not want to play with PAO.
This is the third time they have stated this now.

No need to post double posts for Calathes every time...
He is not Sabonis or something, not even Saras...

"First was the news that Florida's Nick Calathes is staying in the draft, which is more interesting than at first glance. The word from his camp is that Calathes may be getting cold feet about playing in Greece this year. Apparently the team Calathes signed with, Panathinaikos, is going to sign veteran point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius. If that happens, Calathes isn't getting nearly the playing time he thought he would.
If Calathes gets drafted high enough, he may try to convince the team that drafts him to buy him out of his contract now, so he can head directly to the NBA. There isn't a provision in his contract for a buyout until next year, but maybe there's a solution that will make sense. If Calathes slips into the second, most likely he'll stay in Europe and try to get the team that drafts him to buy him out next year."
