Ja Morant became the focal point of the Memphis Grizzlies in his rookie season leading his team to the 8th seed until the NBA season postponement in March.

The rookie voiced his discontent on the NBA play-in format in the season restart, labeling it as unfair for Memphis.

“You know, we can’t control that,” Morant said in an interview on ESPN’s The Jump, via ESPN. “Only thing we can control is how, you know, we go out and attack each of these games before that decision is made.”

The Tenessee franchise holds a 3.5 games advantage over a 3-way tie for ninth place among the Pelicans, the Kings and the Blazers.

Memphis will face the three of them during the seeding games, which start tonight with the contest between Utah and New Orleans.

The Grizzlies are going to face Portland on Friday in a really crucial matchup for the last playoff place.
