Between July 22-26, the first edition of the Amiral League was held in Cergy, France, on the outskirts of Paris. The French summer league featured up-and-coming European talent, as well as those more established in the basketball world. Including the Chicago Bulls’ Adam Mokoka.

The Detroit Pistons’ Sekou Doumbouya was expected to take part in the tournament but he has since returned to the United States. On the first day, Frank Ntilikina of the New York Knicks was in attendance to offer his support.

Mokoka is a two-way player, who as a rookie, appeared in 11 games for the Bulls in the 2019-20 season. Averaging 2.9 points in 10.2 minutes per contest. On 42.9% shooting, 40% from 3. As part of his contract, the 22-year-old played in 31 G League games for the Windy City Bulls. Averaging 10.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.3 steals.

He was part of Team Amiral, who reached the final game, facing off against Quai 54 for the championship. Quai 54 were led by Lahaou Konaté and Boris Dallo, who both play their trade in France’s top tier. As well as former G League player for the Windy City Bulls and Capital City Go-Go, Darel Poirier.

Team Amiral won the game, 74-62. Mokoka had 18 points and a handful of assists, taking home MVP honours in the process.
