Kyle Kuzma is going to be a restricted free agent the upcoming offseason, with the Los Angeles Lakers having the ability to match any offer he will receive.

However, “Kuz” is not thinking ahead of his looming contract extension, as he expressed his certainty of getting paid regardless in the future.

“I mean, I’m gonna get paid regardless so I don’t really care,” Kuzma told the media on Wednesday, per Sabreena Mercanf of SB Nation. “It’s gonna happen one day. So I don’t think about that.”

The Lakers are expected to remain flexible during the 2021 NBA free agent signing period, as they are interested in getting one more mega start besides keeping Davis and LeBron on the team.

Kuzma has been viewed by the Lakers as a potential third scoring star in the squad, after a really promising rookie season.

The third-year NBA forward averaged 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game shooting 43% from the field.

He is having his best season as long as advance metrics go with Laker being on +5.3 per 100 possessions when he is on the floor.
