NBA teams have been informed that the 2020 draft lottery is moving up from Aug. 25 to Aug. 20, according to Shams Charania.

The 2020 NBA Draft remains Oct. 16.

The eight teams with the best odds in this year’s lottery are the same eight teams who are not involved in the NBA restart in Orlando.

The Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves have a 14.0% chance of getting the No. 1 overall pick, followed by the Atlanta Hawks (12.5%), Detroit Pistons (10.5%), New York Knicks (9.0%), Chicago Bulls (7.5%) and Charlotte Hornets (6.0%).

The other six teams that will be part of the 2020 lottery will be determined once the 16 playoff teams are set, which will happen a few days before Aug. 20.

Those six teams that don’t make the playoffs will be placed in the bottom six spots of the lottery standings.

Their order will be determined by their records as of March 11, before the season was suspended.
