Indiana Pacers star Victor Oladipo and the Miami Heat have mutual interest in each other, according to Caitlin Cooper of SB Nation and J. Michael of the IndyStar. Oladipo will not play in Orlando due to the quad injury that had him sidelined most of the season.

Oladipo not playing in Florida added fuel to the fire of an eventual deal between him and the Heat. A potential free agent in 2021, Oladipo is looking at a big-time payday as he was an All-Star two years in a row before this season. He could potentially take a top tier playoff team like the Heat to a title contender.

“….there’s more to it beyond those things,” Michael said on Twitter in response to Cooper. “It is not a big secret inside basketball circles.”

If this is true we may see Oladipo paired up with Jimmy Butler in the future. The Indiana Pacers have already lost Paul George and they got a rising superstar in Victor Oladipo in return. The reason Oladipo is not playing in the Orlando games is that the Pacers want to protect their investment.

When it is time for free agency the Pacers can get something in return for their budding star or a potential trade may be in the works during the offseason.
