The interim head coach of the Brooklyn Nets Jacque Vaughn is going to lead the team in the NBA restart in Orlando.

The former assistant coach talked on his relationship with the superstar duo of the Nets and how often he communicate with them, after becoming the head coach.

“My conversations with those guys are generally based around me checking in to see how they’re doing,” Vaughn said on a Zoom session on Saturday, per NY Post.

“Some of those conversations lead into basketball, some of those conversations lead into life conversations, some of those conversations might lead into, ‘I have a podcast for you to listen to.’ So it ranges. For me, it’s more of the connection knowing that I’m thinking about them.”

Both Durant and Irving will not join the Nets in the Orlando “bubble”, while the same goes for DeAndre Jordan.

Vaughn has a real chance, being one of the leading candidates, to be the Nets’ head coach for the next seasons, according to recent report.
