A few moths after meeting him in the Eurocup Finals, Valencia Basket Club has signed stretch forward Luke Harangody for the next two seasons. Harangody (2.03 meters, 25 years old) made his European debut last season with Unics Kazan and averaged 7.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 24 Eurocup games to help the team reach the Eurocup Finals. He upped those numbers to 9.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in four games against Valencia, including two in the Eurocup Finals. One of the better perimeter shooting big men in the competition, Harangody made 27 threes at a 44.3% success rate. He first made a name for himself as a college basketball star at the University of Notre Dame, where Harangody was a three-time All-American and the 2008 Big East Conference Player of the Year. His 2,476 career points for the Fighting Irish remain second most in school history. Harangody later played for Boston and Cleveland in the NBA and Canton and Fort Wayne in the D-League.
