Sam Presti shared his thoughts on the 22-team format in Orlando, admitting that he can not project what it will look like.
NBA decided in favor of resuming the season in Orlando on July 31st. The Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti spoke on the matter during a conference call with several reporters.
“We don’t have any idea what this is going to be like, so we’re going in with no preconceived notions other than we’re going to have to be adaptable, and we’re going to have to get comfortable with the fact that things are not going to be the way we’re used to them being. Once you get past that, I think you can get into really embracing that kind of uncertainty,” Presti claimed, per The Oklahoman.
The veteran NBA executive believes the league took the best decision possible, saying there was not ‘any other choice’.
“We were going to go with whatever was best for the league,” Presti continued. “We’ll play anywhere, so we’re perfectly happy with what the league chose to go with. I think everyone has to be. There’s no choice.”
A “bubble” environment in Orlando will be designed to protect players and staff from the coronavirus, while each team’s travel party will be limited to 35 people, per The Athletic.
The NBA suspended season on March 11 with the Oklahoma City Thunder being the 5th best team in the West with a 40-24 record.
