CSKA Moscow will retain the services of its top backcourt player from the last three seasons after point guard Milos Teodosic signed a new three-year deal to remain at the club.
Teodosic (1.95 meters, 27 years old), who first joined CSKA in 2011, ranks fourth among the Turkish Airlines Euroleague leaders in assists and ninth in scoring in the three seasons since he landed in Moscow. He averaged 10.7 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in 23 Turkish Airlines Euroleague appearances for CSKA last season. Teodosic helped lead CSKA to the Euroleague Final Four in each of those three seasons and was named to the All-Euroleague Second Team for both 2011-12 and 2012-13. Last season, Teodosic moved into the top 10 among all Euroleague players this century in assists (596) and the top 15 in three-point shots made (247)
Teodosic was voted as the 2009-10 Euroleague MVP after he averaged 13.4 points and 4.9 assists in 22 games and led Olympiacos Piraeus to its first Euroleague final since 1997. He has also played for FMP Zeleznik and its farm team Borac Cacak before joining the Reds in the summer of 2007. He is also a regular member of the Serbian national team. Teodosic led Serbia to the EuroBasket 2009 final and the 2010 FIBA World Championships semifinals. With CSKA, Teodosic has also won the Russian and VTB United League titles three times each and was named MVP of the latter’s playoffs this spring.
“I am really happy to see that the people from the club, the fans are attracted by the way I am playing and proved that by offering me a new contract,” Teodosic said in a statement. “It’s great that I will stay for three more years. I promise I will do everything to reach our main goal and win the Euroleague title. I’ll do my best to back up the trust I feel here.”
