Michael Jordan was not only tough on his teammates but also on opposing players, especially rookies. NBA legend Allen Iverson remembered his first conversation with MJ during his rookie game. Iverson wasn’t just another rookie. He entered the league as the first picks of the 1996 NBA Draft. But that did not impress Jordan.
“The first time I ever talked to him was that year, playing in the rookie game. I’ll never forget it, because he said, ‘What’s up, you little b*tch?’ I’ll never forget it,” Iverson recalled, via Maitreyee Joshi of Essentially Sports.
The Bulls crushed Iverson’s Sixers by 29 points. The rookie had 15 points (4/13 field goals), 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Meanwhile Jordan dropped 27 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and dished 5 assists.
