Mo Williams played 13 years in the NBA being an All-Star with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2008-09 season and a member of the championship team in Ohio in the 2015-16 season. The former NBA champion named head coach at the Alabama State University earlier today.

For the past two seasons, Williams had been an assistant under Mark Gottfried at California State University at Northridge. Furthermore, he played for Gottfried at Alabama, where he was SEC Freshman of the Year in 2002.

“It’s a great day to be a Hornet,” Williams said per ESPN. “I am extremely excited to become part of the family, and I am looking forward to the challenge. Go Hornets!”

In his 13-year career, Williams played for the Utah Jazz, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Charlotte Hornets.
