Mychal Thompson, father of the Golden State Warriors star Klay, once in a while shares his views about his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers. This time, the two-time NBA champion (in 1987 and 1988 with the Lakers) listed twelve players that make his all-time Lakers team.

According to him, the starting lineup is as follows:

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, C (5 NBA titles with the Lakers)
Elgin Baylor, SF (11-time NBA All-Star)
James Worthy, SF (3 NBA titles with the Lakers)
Magic Johnson, PG (5 NBA titles with the Lakers)
Kobe Bryant, SG (5 NBA titles with the Lakers)

The bench is just as impressive:

Shaquille O’Neal, C (3 NBA titles with the Lakers)
Wilt Chamberlain, C (1 NBA title with the Lakers)
Jerry West, PG (1 NBA title with the Lakers)
Jamaal Wilkes (3 NBA titles with the Lakers)
Gail Goodrich (1 NBA title with the Lakers)
Pau Gasol, C/PF (2 NBA titles with the Lakers)
Michael Cooper, SG (5 NBA titles with the Lakers)

It should come as no surprise that the list does not include two of the biggest Lakers stars currently, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Despite being big names, the two are yet to accomplish things in LA. Thompson’s team is clearly made of players who won titles with the Lakers or at least spent a significant part of their careers with the team.
