Former Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers forward Lamar Odom will relaunch his playing career at Euroleague side Laboral Kutxa.
Odom has signed a two-months deal with the Liga Endesa side as he tries to get back to fitness before thinking about his NBA future in the summer.
It is expected that Odom will play out the rest of the season in Spain despite his contract, as is customary with ex-NBA players features an NBA out clause that allow established veterans such as Odom to return to the NBA if the opportunity arises.
“We’re very happy to have signed a very important player who has had a long and fruitful career in the NBA,” Laboral Kutxa president Josean Querejeta said in a statement.
“We’ve worked very hard over the last couple of days to make this happen, we felt we needed a boost and had to break the collective cloud that has been hanging over us over the last while so we could get back to winning.”
Odom could make his debut on Saturday against basement side Valladolid. Baskonia currently sit ninth in the Liga Endesa and are last in the Euroleague Top 16, Group E.
