Ex-NBA swingman, Tony Allen, who was part of the Boston Celtic team that won the 2008 NBA championship, appeared on Cedric Maxwell’s podcast and talked about the Celtics days, and Ray Allen’s decision to leave the team:

“We threw this word around ubuntu. In his situation, he probably didn’t feel that ubuntu part, he didn’t probably feel that love, he felt something different. When situations go like that I just believe any man is entitled to what they want to do.

I understand both sides, I heard both sides, some guys felt he should’ve holla’d at them before he left, but we all know how tricky this business is.”
