Zalgiris added point guard Donnie McGrath on the last day for Euroleague clubs to sign new players.

McGrath was Kaunas for a week but was unable to finalize his move to Zalgiris because his former club PAOK refused to issue a letter of clearance. However, the deal was reached hours before the deadline to register new player for Euroleague.

Since Ibrahim Jaaber left Kaunas due to religious reasons, Zalgiris was in search for a replacement. McGrath was chosen as a second point guard, who will share the time on the floor with Oliver Lafayette.

McGrath couldn’t train with his new team despite living for a week in Kaunas. He will train with other Zalgiris players for the first time ahead of a crucial Top 16 clash against Panathinaikos.

The player signed the contract with Zalgiris until the end of the season with an option to extend it until the end of 2013-2014 season.
