Valencia forward and Ukraine international Serhiy Lishchuk has been ruled out for at least three weeks after he suffered an injury to his right tendon last weekend.
The injury, caused in his side’s 81-78 home win against struggling Barcelona on Sunday might also keep him out for the season, team doctors have confirmed. After a three-week resting period, the medical services of the club will evaluate the injury to pinpoint the total recovery time.
So far in the Eurocup regular season, Lishchuk had averaged 11.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in over 20 minutes per game for Valencia, and are leading Group D with a perfect 3-0 record.
Valencia are currently third in Liga Endesa behind leaders Real Madrid and Gran Canaria 2014 with a 7-2 record.
