As it was rumoured since this morning, Andy Panko put his signature to the contract offered him by Greek giants Panathinaikos.

The Greens are looking to add new pieces to the team in order to be competitive next year. After losing Kaimakoglou to UNICS and rumours have it that Batiste is Fenerbahce bound, it is not a secret, that Argyris Pedoulakis works hard in order to bring new players to Athens.

Of course, the new Panathinaikos head coach has many obstacles to overcome in order to build a competitive squad, due to budget cuts.

But the Athenian club have announced one of the hottest names at the moment, Andrew John Panko III, the 35 year old American, who has played for Lagun Aro GBC for almost 5 years. He is 2.04m and can cover the absence of Kostas Kaimakoglou, as he is a versatile PF, who has great post up moves and can attack to the rim efficiently.

Panko was averaging 18.9 points per game last season, ranking first at the related table while he was grabbing more than 5 rebounds. He was the MVP of 2011-2012 ACB league. He has a nice mid-range shot and can threat beyond the arc too, as evidenced by his 32%.

Panathinaikos will look to take advantage of his size and offensive skills for the next two seasons, as the two sides signed a 1+1 deal.
