LeBron James appears to be fully behind the Los Angeles Lakers pursuing former teammate J.R. Smith.

The team has kept things quiet where their search for a viable free agent is concerned. But Smith, who hasn’t played any basketball this season, is now understood to be a target.

By the looks of things, LeBron is not averse to the idea of reuniting with the former Cleveland Cavaliers star and indicated as much via Instagram on Wednesday night. “We called him 911 because when there’s an emergency, give it to him and it’s cash,” he wrote in his story.

James and Smith won a title together in Cleveland and the latter is indeed a reliable scorer in clutch situations. The small forward has posted career averages of 12.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, having shot 41.9 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from beyond the arc.
