Kentucky Wildcats top prospect Anthony Davis was taken with No.1 pick in the NBA draft by New Orleans. Hornets finished last season with Western Conference low 21 wins. 19-years old teenager from Chicago led University of Kentucky to the National championship in NCAA in his only college season. He averaged 14,2 points, 10,4 rebounds and 4,7 block shots in 2011/2012.
Another Kentucky Wildcats player – forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was selected second in draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. Like Davis, Kidd is 19-years old and leaves college after his first season. This is the first time in draft history when players from same University occupied first two spots in NBA lottery.
Florida guard Bradley Beal went third to the Washington Wizards on his 19th birthday. Syracuse guard Dion Waiters heard his name at No.4 and since now will be dressed in Cleveland Cavaliers jersey. Sacramento Kings rounded out the top five with Kansas forward Thomas Robinson.
The NBA champions Miami Heat, selecting 27th, picked Mississippi State power forward Arnett Moultrie.
