Anthony Davis scored 24 points (7/16 FG, 1/4 3PT, 9/10 FT), grabbed 11 rebounds, handed out two assists, tallied three steals and blocked eight shots in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 106-99 win against the Blake Griffin-less Detroit Pistons at Staples Center on Sunday night. The Lakers, who responded to their 4-game losing streak with a 5-game winning streak, improved to 29-7, whereas the Pistons dropped to 13-24. Davis and JaVale McGee became the third pair of teammates with at least six blocked shots each in a game in NBA history:

“I enjoy it because it gives our team a stop and allows us to get another possession in transition so anytime I’m able to block a shot, I think it kind of uplifts our team. Not just me, but anyone. I think our bench gets hyped when one of our teammates do something special. And then we have fun with it, hence Dwight doing a finger wag,” Davis said after LA’s 20-block performance, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
