LeBron James is currently fourth on the NBA all-time scoring list with 33,347 points and is closing in on those above him. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is not ruling out a possibility of overtaking current leader Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and climbing to the top of the list.

Abdul-Jabbar scored 38,387 points during his 20-season career in the NBA. Accordingly, LeBron needs to score 5,041 points to pass him.

While LeBron is not consciously going after the goal of becoming the top scorer, he think it is possible, per Tim Reynolds of Associated Press:

“I would be lying if I said I don’t see it,” James said. “Obviously I’m not trying to say, ‘OK, well if I play this amount of time, if I average this’ … I’m not doing that because I’ve never done that with my career. I’ve always just kind of let it happen. Whatever happens, happens. But I see it. I do see it.”
