Nicolas Batum went for 26 points, eight assists and seven rebounds as SLUC Nancy beat Bizkaia Bilbao 87-73 to get their Euroleague campaign off and running.

In what was a close game throughout, the French side pulled away in the fourth, as they hit Bilbao with a 15-0 run to clinch victory.

Batum had 11 points in the final ten minutes.

“We just can’t thank Nicolas Batum for having won the game by himself, especially in the last quarter, but we also have to give a warm thanks to the whole team,” Nancy coach Jean-Luc Monscau said afterwards.

Olympiacos also broke away in the final quarter as they came from behind to beat Fenerbahce 81-74.

The Turkish side led 37-26 at the half-time break, but Olympiacos stormed back and won the second half 55-37 to take he win. Vassilis Spanoulis led with 22 points off the bench for the Greek side.

Jaycee Carroll led the Real Madrid charge with 21 points as they outlasted Emporio Armani Milan 85-78 in-front of nearly 11,000 fans.

Serge Ibaka made his Euroleaague debut for Madrid, but due to lack of practice with the team, only managed three minutes off the bench.

Elsewhere in week two of the Euroleague, there were wins for Maccabi Electra, as they beat Partizan 70-66, Unics Kazan picked up their first win by defeating Galatasaray 68-64 in Istanbul, Montepaschi eased to a win over Union Olimpija 79-57 and Regal FC Barcelona beat Asseco Prokom 88-61 thanks to 20 points from Erazem Lorbek.
