Lietuvos Rytas upgraded its offense with the addition of high scoring guard Tyrese Rice, who arrives from German side Artland Dragons. The sides agreed to a one-year contract with an option for a second season.

Rice (1.85 meters, 24 years old) was the German League runner up in scoring last season with 17.2 points per game and ranked fourth with 5.1 assists per game. It was his second professional season after spending the 2009-10 season in Greece with Panionios.

Rice played college basketball at Boston College, where he finished with 2,099 career points, which placed him fifth on the Eagles’ career scoring charts, and 247 three-pointers made, which was third-most in school history. He was an All-Antlantic Coast Conference First Team selection once and a Second Team choice twice during his four years at BC.
