Hundreds of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans are stranded at Ben Gurion International Airport after its management decided to close it down due to contaminated fuel.

There are currently 1500 stranded travelers in the airport, many of whom are Maccabi fans who were heading to Barcelona Final Four.

Even if the problem is resolved within the next few hours there are many who will miss their connection flight to Barcelona, like the 200 fans who were bound for Geneva but were made to return to the terminal while they were already in the plane and ready for take-off.

Incoming flight to the airport were re-directed to Cyprus while there are already thoughts to head to either Cyprus or Jordan to take flights to Europe, in order to reach Barcelona.{jathumbnail off}


The airports authorities claim that they are striving to fix the problem so everyone reach their destinations on time.
