In the first quarter-finals of the ABA league 2019 Supercup, Partizan defeated Mega (86:73). Ιn the second match, the brilliant Primorska knocked out last year’s winner of the ABA SuperCup, Red Star (88:82).

Partizan with confidence against Mega

Partizan became the first semi-finalist of the ABA Super Cup, as they have beaten Mega Bemax in the first game. The MVP of the game was Marcus Paige, who scored 21 points, with 63 percent shot from game.

Rashawn Thomas was also great, scoring points when it seemed like the Mega team might be able to catch up. By the end of first quarter, Mega Bemax were ahead by 21:14, but in next few minutes Partizan took control, with a 23:7 run.

Koper with shocking but absolutely deserved victory

In the second match, an absolute favorite, Red Star, suffered a shocking defeat to Koper Primorska. Primorska played a great game from start to finish, exploiting the flaws of Red Star, whose players were definitely not enough in the match.

Marko Jagodic Kuridza, last year’s MVP of the Adriatic League, stood out in the winning team. They had 23 defensive and 6 offensive rebounds.

For Red Star, Davidovac was the best, with 15 points and an index rating of 20. Red Star played very poor defense, allowing the players of Koper to score very easily from all positions.

As a result of Red Star’s game, head coach Milan Tomic was very unhappy at the post-game press conference. “First of all I would like to congratulate the opponents on winning. Above all, my players need to know that this season everyone will try to defeat Red Star. This game should be a lesson for us.”

The other two quarterfinals in ABA league 2019 Supercup, are tomorrow at 5pm, Cedevita Olympia against FMP, and at 8pm Buducnost will meet Cibona.
