Joe Johnson is very close to making an NBA return, Jeff Goodman from Stadium reports. The veteran is on the verge of signing with the Detroit Pistons who will likely release Michael Beasley to free roster space.
The 38-year-old signed to play in the BIG3 this past March after going unsigned prior to the 2018-2019 NBA season.
In eight games for the Triplets, Johnson averaged 21.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists, leading the league in points and assists per game.
