Following news that the Brooklyn Nets’ duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving is “pushing” the front office to sign free agent forward Carmelo Anthony, Fox Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe thinks Anthony could be valuable role player for the Nets:

“The Nets could probably use some of Carmelo’s scoring. He can’t come in thinking he’s the Nuggets Carmelo or the Knicks Carmelo. He’s no longer Melo; he’s Carmelo Anthony. That guy plays a role. Melo could dominate a game,” Sharpe said.

This past season, a ten-time NBA All-Star played in 10 games and mostly came off the bench to score 13.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.
