Lithuania lost to Spain in the second round of group F in Eurobasket and failed to qualify for the World champions that will be held next year in Turkey. It is a huge disappointment for the “basketball nation” who came to Poland without biggest stars Jasikevicius, Songaila, Ilgauskas, Siskauskas, Macijauskas and Kaukenas.

Lithuania coach Ramunas Butautas will offer his resignation after the final game in Eurobasket against Serbia. Butautas said that he will quit if the team doesn’t qualify for the Mundobasket in Turkey.

– This is a huge disappointment, I cannot explain why we played so bad in Poland. Our biggest weakness was the lack of a good playmaker. Hopefully we will have a much stronger squad in Eurobasket 2011 which will be played in Lithuania – Butautas said after the loss against Spain.
