ESPN’s Mike Greenberg says that the Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James will have an extra motivation for the upcoming NBA season after receiving zero votes from NBA executives as best player in a recent survey:

“Gentlemen it is my contention that LeBron James is getting ready to go medieval on the NBA. He has sat back for the last several months and heard his name slandered, which I think this [survey] constitutes in a way that is unimaginable to me … .

I think LeBron is gonna come back on a scorched-earth tour, all this Taco Tuesday stuff is fun … I love jovial LeBron, but I think we’re getting angry, motivated, well-rested LeBron, and he may very well, despite his age, have as good a year as he’s ever had,” Greenberg said, per ClutchPoints.

This past season, James averaged 27.4 points (51 FG%), 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game.
