After signing Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, which instantly put the Los Angeles Clippers among the favourites to win the NBA next season, the club wants to take another step further and have its own homecourt.

Currently, the Clippers play their home games in STAPLES Center which is shared with the Los Angeles Lakers. But that is set to end.

The club unveiled a project for the new arena in Inglewood which is a city in southwestern Los Angeles County, California, in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

“If we’re going to have the foundation for the long term, we deserve to have a house of our own”, the Clippers Chairman Steve Ballmer said.

The proposed project located on West Century Boulevard between South Prairie Avenue and South Yukon Avenue will not only have a basketball arena but also will include the team’s business and basketball offices, training facility, community and retail spaces.

The arena is expected to be built by fall of 2024, following the expiration of the Clippers’ lease at STAPLES Center.

The whole campus is projected to have the most modern infrastructure and will achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions through a combination of carbon offset credits and sustainable design features.
