Grizzlies’ Iranian international center Hadem Haddadi was arrested after beating his girlfriend, Goolnaz “Asal” Karbalaeinematmoeeney. Yes, apparently that is her real name.
The police was called yesterday to the home of the first Iranian player in the NBA after reports of unrest from the neighbours. Apparently Haddadi and his girlfriend has some sort of “altercation”, which is a fancy word Americans use for “domestic violence”, and the police found Goolnaz “Asal” Karbalaeinematmoeeney with bruises and scratches.
The couple was taken to a hospital and then arrested and booked.
The club announced that is aware of the incident, but did not want to say anything more.
