Once in a while there comes an extremely tall youngster from Africa and Spain has been grabbing quite a few in the last few years. After Algerian Saad Kaiche now comes a 15-year-old from the Democratic Republic of Congo called Bienvenue Letuni, who already stands 2.24m with a wingspan of 2.40m.
Baketball is something new for Letuni, who started played only around six months ago and has been receiving the support and guidance of a former player, Anicet Lavodrama from the Central African Republic. For now he performed some tests with ACB's Joventut and will also for Baskonia.
Depending on the results, which seemed positive, and working conditions offered, he will decide about his future with the NBA in mind, like Congolese Serge Ibaka (Oklahoma City Thunder), of whom he is an admirer.
Letuni suffers from gigantism and will predictably undergo tretament to hinder his growing.
