Dwight Powell has officially declined his player option

According to Marc Stein, the Dallas Mavericks power forward/center Dwight Powell has officially opted out of his final year which is worth $10.2 million to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Mavs intend to ink Powell to a new deal.

Last season, the 27-year-old averaged 10.6 points, 1.5 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game, while shooting at 59.7 percent from the field.
