LKLToday Lithuanian Basketball Federation (LKF) has approved the change of a foreign players limit in Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). The teams will be allowed to register five foreigners in their LKL roster plus one more foreigner for 50K Litas (around 14,5K Euros). The decision was made after recent demands by top two Lithuanian clubs – Lietuvos Rytas and Zalgiris – to extend the foreign players limit in LKL.

LKL teams were allowed to register only four foreigners this season and according to the previous decision by LKF, the limit was supposed to be reduced to three foreign player per team. Though the big clubs weren’t too happy with that as it hurts their competitiveness in Europe.
