Lithuanian champions continue building the team for the future by signing yet another prospect. 22-year-old guard Arvydas Siksnius confirmed to newspapaer “Siauliu krastas” that he signed a multi-year contract with Lietuvos Rytas. It is still unknown whether the player will wear the jersey of his new team right from next season or will he have to wait for his debut with Rytas. Siksnius himself said that it is most likely that he will be playing for Rytas already next season.

Arvydas Siksnius won LKL dunk contest in 2009 at the age of 21. He joined Siauliai before this season and instantly found to be an important player of his new team. Before moving to Siauliai Siksnius represented another club from Vilnius – Sakalai, a team known for once in a while producing players who are signed by the top clubs.

Siksnius made his debut in Eurocup this season. Even though Siauliai won only one game, Siksnius felt comfortable on a bigger stage as he averaged 14.8 points per game (Free-throws: 81.5%, 2PTS: 52%, 3PTS: 48.6%). His stats in LKL are a little less impressive – 11 points per game (Free-throws: 62.7%, 2PTS: 54.3%, 3PTS: 32.6%).

Lietuvos Rytas has already signed two other promising players – Jonas Valanciunas and Zydrunas Kelys.
