ImageOmar Sneed joins two other veterans, Tolbert and Watson, In Ashkelon, which was his first team in Israel.


Omar Sneed (33, 1.98) returns to Ironi Ashkelon which was his first team in the Israeli League back in 2004/05 season. Sneed joins Moran Roth who was his team mate last season in Jerusalem and before that in Rishon Lezion.

Sneed, who was selected last season to the all-league starting five will spend his fifth season in Israel, this time playing for Ashkelon. He has been one of the most versatile players in the Israeli league in the last 5 years.

His first season in Israel was in 2004/05 in Ahskelon, again under coach Bet-Halahmi (19.1 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 3.2 apg). In 2005/06 he played in Maccabi Rishon Lezion (18.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 4.3 apg).

In the middle of 2007/08 he got back to Rishon (16.4 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 4.4 apg) and in 2008/09 he moved to Hapoel Jerusalem (14.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 5.0 apg)

Sneed has scored 1413 points in his carrer in the Israeli league (ranks #246 in the League all-time scorers list).
