Alex Tyus of Maccabi Tel-Aviv played consistently in the Israelis’ five games in January and was named the EuroLeague MVP of the month.
The American center averaged 11.2 points and a PIR of 14.6, while shooting at an impressive 84% in two-pointers.
Tyus led Maccabi in points (56), two-point shots made (26), blocks (7) and performance index rating (73) for the month. He was the only Maccabi player with a double-digit PIR in all five games, too.
Maccabi currently is at 9-11 and is fighting for the final play-off spot.
