According to Sportando, Panathinaikos are set to organise a tournament in memory of the club’s legendary president, Pavlos Giannakopoulos, who passed away a few weeks ago, at the age of 89.

This tournament, which will be played next September and will take place every year from now on, will include some of Euroleague’s top clubs, as the “Greens” want to honour Pavlos Giannakopoulos, who transformed Panathinaikos into the most successful team in Europe.

Pavlos Giannakopoulos, along with his brother, Thanasis, were the owners of the team from 1987 to 2012, when Pavlos’ son, Dimitris, took over.
