Valencia Basket small forward Joan Sastre is expected to be sidelined for several weeks due to a fractured bone in his right hand.

Sastre got injured in his team’s EuroLeague game against Olympiacos Piraeus. He went for a dunk, had a bad fall after that and was not able to return to the game.

Further tests confirmed that Sastre fractured the pisiform bone – situated where the ulna joins the wrist – in his right hand.

Sastre will undergo an initial treatment which is expected to last for a month, and will start therapy after that. Sastre has averaged five points on 40% three-point shooting and 2.4 assists in seven EuroLeague games so far this season.
