Ahead of Juan Carlos Navarro’s 20-year anniversary with Barcelona, former head coach Xavi Pascual says that the veteran was the best player he ever coached.
Since his debut in 1997 to now, Navarro has been a mainstay in the Barca side and the 37-year old will deservedly be honoured for his loyalty to the club. Barcelona hosts Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv tonight (Thursday) and the Catalan club will honour the player with gifts and his team-mates will wear a commemorative jersey during the presentation, the team said.
“For me, he’s the best player I’ve ever coached,” Panathinaikos coach Xavi Pascual, who led Barca from 2008-2016 said.
“For someone to be part of a team like Barcelona for 20 years is an amazing record. He is very important in the team’s history. It was truly an honour to have worked with him.”
