Henrik Rodl will replace Chris Fleming as new Germany head coach for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers that start in November.

Since January 1st, 2016, the 48-year-old Rodl has a full-time role at the German Basketball Federation. He was responsible for the national B team and the U20 national team.

Rodl was an assistant coach of the national team under Fleming who has to leave his position due to his commitments with the Brooklyn Nets, where he is an assistant coach.

Rodl was also a member of the German national team which won the Eurobasket in 1993 and now he will lead the team in a new era where Germany will face Eurobasket runners-up Serbia, Georgia and Austria in the World Cup qualifiers that start in November.
