Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul has reinforced its ranks ahead of its first title defense by signing All-EuroLeague power forward Nicolo Melli to a three-year contract, the club announced on Saturday.

Melli (2.05 meters, 26 years old) spent the last two seasons with Brose Bamberg, where he catapulted his output to become one of the top players in Europe. He averaged 11.5 points on 43.4% three-point shooting, with 7.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists last season. He also led the league in defensive rebounding (6.1), ranked second in total rebounds and was seventh in average performance index rating (16.9), while also being chosen as the MVP for month of December.

All the numbers were career-highs for Melli, who already has seven EuroLeague season and 135 games in the competition under his belt. He also led Bamberg to back-to-back German League championships. Melli made his EuroLeague debut in 2010 with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. He has also played for Reggio Emilia and Scavolini Pesaro in his native Italy.
