ImageIn a night where games were more close than yesterday Khimki made the most important win of the night by beating Real Madrid in their Euroleague debut in overtime. In the other game which finished Lietuvos Rytas proved once more than they are a real power in European competitions by beating Efes Pilsen.

Lietuvos Rytas 77-70 Efes Pilsen

In front of 7.000 fans Lietuvos Rytas was led by their domestic duo of Gecevicius and Zavackas beat Efes Pilsen 77-70 rather easily, maintaining a 10-15 points difference throughout the game. On the other side only  Kasun, Nachbar and Shumpert showed up for the game while the Turkish fans will have a lot of compaints againt their coach Ataman.

Khimki 84-81 Real Madrid

In the opening game of the night the local team of Khimki Moscow beat Euroleague giants Real Madrid in an impressive debut in the compeition, in a thrilling game which was decided in overtime. For the away team D. Lavrinovic made his best game in the competition scoring 32 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and producing an index rating of 49 but it wasn't enough as the only help he got was from his compatriot Kaukenas. Together they combined a total of 54 out of 81 points of their team.

Khimki on the other hand was more balanced and with Cabezas (20 points) leading and another five players scoring double digit numbers made an excellent start to their Euroleague campaign.
