Fresh off a silver medal showing at the Rio Olympics, Serbian big man Vladimir Stimac has inked a one-year deal with Besiktas.

The 29-year-old, who has had experience playing in Turkey with Olin Edirne and BK Banvit joins the Istanbul-based club from Crvena Zvezda, where he averaged 6.9 points a game in 14.6 minutes coming off the bench in the EuroLeague.

The 6’11” Serb, who will not only compete in the Turkish Basketball League but also the FIBA Champions League has plenty of experience in the EuroLeague. He averages a career 7.1 points a game as well as 4.8 rebounds shooting a consistent 57 percent from the field. Stimac has enjoyed spells with Zalgiris, Unicaja Malaga and Bayern Munich as well as Red Star.

Besiktas announced that the signing, which is for a year also has a release clause in the contract.
