The Charlotte Hornets are working toward a potential long-term agreement with Brandon Miller as the former No. 2 overall pick approaches his fourth NBA season.
Charlotte and Miller have been actively discussing a rookie-scale contract extension.
Despite dealing with multiple injuries since entering the league in 2023, the 6-foot-7 wing has emerged as an important piece of the Hornets’ young core when available.
Miller delivered a strong offensive season last year, averaging 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
His shooting efficiency also improved, particularly from beyond the arc, where he connected on 38.3% of 7.9 attempts per game.
He also converted 89.2% of his free throws while reaching the line a career-high 3.4 times per game, adding another efficient element to his scoring.
Availability, however, has been an issue during Miller’s first three seasons. He played 74 games as a rookie before a torn ligament in his right wrist limited him to only 27 appearances during his second campaign.
Miller returned to play 65 games last season, although shoulder instability continued to affect him at different points of the year.
