The Milwaukee Bucks have waived forward Pete Nance, according to the NBA’s official transaction log (h/t Hoops Rumors). The move removes a rotation forward who appeared in 47 games during the 2025–26 season and had gradually carved out a consistent bench role.
Nance averaged 5.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 15.7 minutes per game for the Bucks this season. He shot 51.5% from the field and 42.0% from three-point range across Milwaukee’s 2025–26 campaign.
Nance’s role was largely defined by spacing and low-usage efficiency within a frontcourt rotation that included Bobby Portis and Kyle Kuzma. He logged six starts and provided situational minutes as a floor-stretching forward.
Across his three-year NBA sample of 68 games, Nance posted career averages of 4.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game while shooting 49.6% from the field and 41.7% from three-point range. His 2025–26 season represented his most stable stretch of playing time and production.
The decision comes in the context of a heavily reshaped Milwaukee roster following the franchise-altering offseason trade that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat. The Bucks’ return package included Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, multiple future first-round picks, and additional draft capital, signaling a pivot toward long-term asset accumulation.
The Bucks finished the 2025–26 regular season 32–50, placing 11th in the Eastern Conference and missing the play-in tournament. The roster featured significant turnover throughout the year, including multiple waiver moves and two-way contract additions aimed at evaluating younger talent.
