Mavericks acquire Santi Aldama from Grizzlies

The Mavericks have agreed to acquire forward Santi Aldama from the Grizzlies in exchange for AJ Johnson, a protected 2030 first-round pick from the Warriors, and two future second-round picks, according to ESPN.

Dallas adds a versatile frontcourt player as it continues to strengthen its roster, while Memphis receives additional draft assets to support its long-term plans.

The trade also enables the Grizzlies to preserve the full $29 million trade exception they generated in the Jaren Jackson Jr. deal.

Had Memphis taken back additional salary in earlier offseason transactions, that exception would have been reduced.
