Victor Wembanyama has been diagnosed with a concussion after sustaining an injury early in the second quarter of the San Antonio Spurs’ 106-103 loss in Game 2 against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The injury occurred as Wembanyama drove to the basket against Jrue Holiday, where he was fouled, lost his balance, and fell forward, hitting his head on the floor.

He stayed down momentarily and appeared disoriented while trying to get up before being helped to the locker room for further evaluation, accompanied by Spurs general manager Brian Wright.

Shortly after Wright returned to the bench area, the team announced Wembanyama would not return as he had entered concussion protocol.

“It’s more than a basketball game for us, so I was just trying to check on my brother,” Stephon Castle told NBC’s Zora Stephenson at halftime.”
