With a playoff spot already secured Tuesday in Indiana, the Minnesota Timberwolves plan to rest several regulars for Wednesday’s matchup in Orlando on the second night of a back-to-back.
The team announced (via Twitter) that Julius Randle (right hand soreness), Ayo Dosunmu (right calf injury maintenance), and Mike Conley (rest) will be out, while Rudy Gobert (rest) is listed as questionable.
Anthony Edwards will also remain sidelined, having missed nine of the team’s last 11 games due to patellofemoral pain syndrome and an illness, as Minnesota prioritizes his health for the playoffs.
Earlier this week, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic indicated the Wolves may have Edwards return briefly before the postseason, then give him additional rest ahead of Game 1.
The most notable update centers on Jaden McDaniels, who has been out since March 25 with left knee patella tendinopathy.
According to a team release, he has been cleared for full-contact, 5-on-5 action and is now questionable for Wednesday in Orlando. Even if he doesn’t play, his return is expected before the regular season ends.
